our Commitment to our Jerusalem

At Stanley Heights, we are committed to reaching our local community. We believe that our first priority should be to reach the people that God has placed around us. We make it a major focus to be actively involved in reaching the people of the Chattanooga area.

our opportunities in our Jerusalem

Mid-week outreach

As part of our our mid-week ministries, we seek to follow up with those who have visited our church and with prospects through personal visits. Our classes have the opportunity to follow up with our guests.

Cookie Connection Ministry

Every first time visitor to SHBC receives a visit and a plate of cookies sometime within the following week. Several of our ladies are involved in keeping our freezer stocked with cookies and the cookie plates full.

Scripture & Literature Distribution and Soulwinning

Two times a year we blitz our local community with information packets including the Gospel of John and book of Romans, as well as other information about our church. Our goal is to pass out 2,000 information packets each blitz.

outreach Events

Several times a year we hold various outreach events that we invite the public to. These include evangelistic meetings, Vacation Bible School, Christmas and Easter musicals, Friend Day, 4th of July services, and youth activities.

upward Basketball Ministry

Upward is a first-class faith-based sports experience that emphasizes healthy competition, sportsmanship, skills building and fun versus the “win-at-all-costs” mentality found in many children sports leagues. This ministry is a wonderful outreach to children and families.

Elementary School Good News Clubs

This is an incredible opportunity to share the Gospel with children on campus in two public elementary schools. Good News Club meets once a week after school and includes a Bible story, a missionary story, Scripture memory, and games for the kids. Most importantly, it is an opportunity to share the Gospel with children that we might not otherwise be able to reach.

Deaf Ministry

Sunday services at SHBC are interpreted for the deaf as needed.
